Adult ADD or adult attention deficit disorder is a condition usually beginning in childhood which can persist into the adult years. Problems with maintaining focus or attention is the most common syptom often resulting in starting many tasks while completing few of them in a timely manner.

Treatment can be very effective and may include both cognitive behavioral interventions as well as medications. Links to some potentially helpful sites are included below.

Medications which are often helpful include Wellbutrin, Strattera, Parnate, and all of the stimulants. Non-stimulant medications have the advantage, however, of not requiring frequent, written, non-refillable prescriptions. Wellbutrin also has the advantage of once-a-day dosing which is effective for the entire day.
